Appreciating What We Have
It is so easy to get caught up focusing on what we don’t have at the moment without appreciating what we do have. Wishing for more never really leads to feeling good, at least in my experience!
When I find myself in this state, I really try to focus on what I do have, right here and now. Clothes to wear, food to eat, a place to lay head. The fact that I can wash my clothes at my house and don’t have to go to the laundromat anymore. That is huge for me 😂.
Practicing gratitude for what we already have is also such a great exercise for helping to get out of a slump. Simply listing all things you are grateful for is really quite powerful and can help you get out of a low mood. Start with the basics if you have to. Eyes to see, ears to hear, arms to hug with. It usually begins to snowball from there.
You will ultimately see just how rich you already are!
